Written by Kamil Kaderbay

Direct your custom domain to Snackeet and connect it to your Snackeet Story.

⚠️ This feature depends on your current offer and can be limited.

  1. Create your CNAME record.

  2. Link a custom domain and verify it in Snackeet.

Important: Domains can take anywhere from 24-48 hours to populate and sometimes up to 72 hours, depending on your provider. Some providers like GoDaddy and Google Domains can populate their DNS as quickly as 15 min to 1 hour.

1. Create your CNAME record

Access your domain's DNS settings in your domain registrar's or DNS host's dashboard.

IMPORTANT : We currently DO NOT support proxied domains. You will need to deactivate it.

Add a CNAME record

  • Add a CNAME record

  • Set the name : your subdomain

  • Set the target : custom.snkt.io

For example :

Some DNS hosting services prefer that you set the full domain (story.yourdomain.com) as the host instead of story. We recommend that you check the "Adding a CNAME record" documentation of your DNS host.

Every DNS host has their own way of updating DNS settings. We recommend that you read the help documentation of your DNS host, also do not hesitate to contact their support for help with their interface and settings.

3. Setup your 404 page

All these steps must be done only once

4. Setup your domain and favicon of the story

Link your newly created CNAME to your story.

1 - Access to your story

2- Go to the "Share" section

3 - Hit "Setup Custom Domain"

THEN

The favicon is a small square image that represents a website in web browsers. If you take a look at the address bar of your browser right now or on the one of the tab of your browser you will see it.

  • Click on "Setup Favicon"

  • Add your image, it can be a png or jpeg
